Anxiety Therapy

Is excessive worry getting in the way of your ability to function?

Do you find yourself stuck in intrusive fears about the future, worst-case scenarios, or being judged by others? Maybe you also notice physical symptoms—like racing heart, tightness in your chest, or feeling restless—that make it hard to feel calm.

Anxiety often shows up in everyday areas like work, health, finances, and relationships. It can keep you from staying present, drain your focus, and leave you feeling paralyzed about moving forward.

Are You Struggling With Social Anxiety?

Beyond general worries, anxiety can show up in social situations too. You may fear being judged, abandoned, or rejected by others. This can lead to withdrawal, avoidance, or performance anxiety when your efforts are evaluated.

At its core, anxiety often sounds like a loud inner critic whispering, “You’re not good enough.” In therapy, we’ll work together to quiet that voice so you can uncover confidence, self-acceptance, and a stronger sense of ease.

Anxiety is one of the most common mental health conditions

Feeling anxious before a test, big presentation, or new experience is normal—it usually passes. But when anxiety grows strong enough to interfere with daily life, it may be more than temporary stress.

Nearly 20% of American adults experience anxiety disorders, such as:

  • Panic disorder
  • Phobias
  • Social anxiety disorder
  • Generalized anxiety disorder

These conditions can fill everyday life with worry, fear, and self-doubt—but they are treatable.

Where does anxiety come from?

Anxiety doesn’t appear out of nowhere. It can stem from many factors, such as:

  • Chronic stress that keeps your brain on “high alert”
  • Major life transitions (loss, job changes, health issues)
  • Social anxiety disorder
  • Trauma or distressing events that overwhelm the nervous system

Even when anxiety feels overwhelming, it doesn’t have to stay that way. With the right tools, support, and strategies, healing is possible.

FAQs

Still unsure if therapy for anxiety is right for you?

What can I expect from anxiety therapy?

In therapy, you’ll learn practical ways to calm your mind and body so your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors feel more manageable. With support, you can quiet the inner critic, build coping skills, and develop a more compassionate view of yourself—helping you feel more present, confident, and at ease in daily life.

How long will I be in counseling until I see a reduction in my anxiety?

Every client is unique, which means every treatment process is unique. There is no formula for determining how long you will spend in therapy, but the more consistency and trust you bring to the process, the quicker you are likely to see a reduction in symptoms.

Is therapy for anxiety effective even when it is done online?

Treatment via telehealth is just as effective as in-person counseling and in some cases, even more effective than in-person anxiety treatment. Because clients are able to control their environment in online therapy, they typically feel calmer, safer, and more comfortable during sessions. There is also the added benefit of not having to commute.

All of the modalities used in anxiety treatment are safe and effective when done online.

How does online therapy for anxiety work?

If you are a resident of anywhere in Colorado, New Mexico or Oklahoma, you are eligible to receive treatment through Psychological Wellbeing. All you need is internet access and a safe, private place from which you can participate in therapy. From there, a HIPAA-compliant platform will be used to conduct private, confidential sessions.

If worry and self-doubt have been holding you back, you don’t need to carry that weight by yourself anymore. Here at Psychological Wellbeing, we can find a path toward calm, confidence, and balance.
